In the first phase of the study, an analysis was made of the impacts of climate change at the level of Flanders, using different climate change scenarios. In a second phase, a typological analysis was performed of different types of (urban) land use in Flanders. In a third phase, adaptation measures were defined and refined for each of the cases, starting from a longlist of potentially interesting adaptation measures and using the method "reasearch by design" in order to correctly assess the suitability and the applicability of the measures to the given, spatial setting. Finally, the lessons learned through this exercise resulted in the development of guidelines suited to the specifics of the different land use types, as well as more generic measures that have a generic applicability.
