Areva NP hired Tractebel in 2008 to carry out civil engineering studies for the construction of two European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) units for the Taishan nuclear power plant in China. During seven years, Tractebel provided substantial technical expertise and several innovative solutions in civil engineering structures, liners and structural steel design. Tractebel implemented a high number of design modifications, and made several design changes at the client’s request.
