Tractebel announces that Philippe Van Troeye took up his post as Chief Executive Officer on May 1, 2021

Tractebel is pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe Van Troeye as Chief Executive Officer. Former CEO of ENGIE Benelux and ENGIE Electrabel, Philippe began his mandate with Tractebel on May 1.

Philippe is an expert in the energy sector. He started his career in 1987 at Philips Industry, where he worked in the Research & Development department. In 1988, he joined the ENGIE Group where he occupied several positions in power generation at Electrabel. In 2003, he became Executive Vice-President of Conventional Generation in Belgium and Luxembourg and in 2006, the General Manager of this activity in Belgium. In 2012, he was appointed Executive Vice-President of Generation Europe. At the beginning of 2014, Philippe, who was also in charge of all production activities within ENGIE Group’s Energy Europe Branch, took over the responsibility of ENGIE Electrabel as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Tractebel, he served as Chief Executive Officer of ENGIE Benelux since 2016.

He has also been a Board Member of Tractebel Engineering S.A. and Chairman of Laborelec SC for over ten years, among other board memberships.

Philippe Van Troeye succeeds interim CEO Shankar Krishnamoorthy, whose valuable contributions to Tractebel were greatly appreciated. We thank Shankar and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
