The Challenge

Antwerp Port faces significant pollution challenges, including contamination by PFAS, while needing to construct a new terminal. Managing soil remediation and groundwater risks on a highly polluted site posed major environmental and technical complexities.

The Solution

Tractebel conducts comprehensive groundwater studies, including pilot testing for PFAS, to accurately assess contamination levels and risks. We also carry out earthworks assessments related to the removal of approximately 33 million m³ of contaminated soil.
