Tractebel responds to the Science-Based Targets Initiative’s urgent call for corporate climate action

21 Dec 2023

Our company is officially recognized as committed to align with 1.5°C and net-zero through the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign.

In line with our purpose of engineering a carbon-neutral future, Tractebel has set up an ambitious carbon & climate roadmap that includes a Science Based Targets commitment. Our internal objectives have been reached over the 2019-2022 period, and with our Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) commitment now officially recognized, we are setting updated targets that will be submitted for SBTi certification.

SBTi is a global movement for ambitious corporate climate action. SBTi provides companies with a clearly defined path and rigorously reviews their plans to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement goals for limiting global warming.

By committing to our net-zero target, we are becoming part of the UN-backed global campaign Race to Zero, which aims to mobilize corporate leadership to cut global emissions by half by 2030.
