Tractebel ranked top hydro plant design firm in the world

21 Dec 2022

Our company came out on top of the world’s biggest hydro design firms in Engineering News-Record’s 2022 annual ranking.

Tractebel is the world’s leading hydro plant design firm, according to the prestigious American magazine Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) latest ranking. The top spot is testimonial to our commitment to engineering a carbon-neutral future, and cements our reputation as partner of choice for hydro projects on a global scale.

The 2022 top rank in Hydro plant design is up a notch from the number 2 position last year. Tractebel is also well-represented in other Power categories, adding value for our customers by providing top expertise in these markets all over the world. We ranked 7th international Power design firm overall by revenue. Nuclear cracked the top 5 by moving up two slots from 2021 to 4th place. This year, we also placed among the top 10 design firms in Wind (7), Transmission & Distribution (9), Solar (10) and Cogeneration (10). Our Infrastructures and Water business completes our areas of expertise, for a full-service offering.

“It is a source of great pride for Tractebel to be ranked the top international hydro plant design firm and in the top 10 within other Power disciplines. These results are well-deserved recognition of our teams’ passion and unwavering dedication to driving the energy transition. Together with our clients and partners, we look forward to continuing to apply our expertise and innovative solutions to pave the way for a carbon-neutral energy mix.”

Philippe Van Troeye, Tractebel Chief Executive Officer
