Tractebel and partners earn prestigious MIPIM real estate award

09 Sep 2021

Our Urban experts’ efforts on the crucial MontLégia Clinic project in Liege, Belgium, were rewarded with the prize for Best Healthcare Development by the International Market for Real Estate Professionals in Cannes, France.

When Tractebel’s Urban team and partners stepped up to accept their MIPIM award on September 8, 2021 on the terrace of the Palais des Festivals with a sweeping view over the bay of Cannes in the South of France, it certainly felt like a red carpet moment.

And the MIPIM award for Best Healthcare Development goes to…

Together with developer Le Groupe Santé Centre Hospitalier Chrétien (CHC), partners Assar and Artau (architects) and Bureau Greisch (structures), Tractebel (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) won the category of Best Healthcare Development for the CHC MontLégia general hospital project in Liège, Belgium.

Prioritizing hospital completion in the face of the Covid crisis

All projects have priority for Tractebel, but this was an extreme case. The CHC hospital construction, on which Tractebel has provided the majority of technical consultation and reviews for the last five years, became an urgent priority at the onset of the global pandemic. Throughout the build, our Urban experts ensured preliminary design to consignment of works and control of execution and testing of HVAC, energy production, sanitary, emergency systems and all elements critical to the hospital's operation.

The MIPIM (Marché International des Professionnels de L’immobilier, or International Market for Real Estate Professionals) holds an annual awards ceremony to recognize outstanding real estate projects worldwide.

“We are very grateful to the management and all the teams at the CHC who put their trust in us to push the development of this crucial new hospital during a challenging time. In close collaboration with our partners, we managed to beat the clock and open the doors of the hospital on March 21, 2020. The recognition of this accomplishment by the MIPIM is testimony to the commitment of all involved to step up in a time of crisis, even in the face of difficult circumstances.”
