The Association of Persons with Physical Disability International is “a public benefit organization that aims to promote, support, develop the potential of persons with disabilities, and publicly educate people about people with disabilities to understand and have the right attitude about persons with disabilities”. (http://www.apdi2002.com/)
As a step to meet our purpose in every way possible, our team in Thailand responded to the call of APDI for support by donating used office supplies and equipment. The donation consisted of “write off” fixed assets like used computers, notebooks, printers, monitors, office chairs, shredder, etc. While supporting the local community where Tractebel is located, we are also able to minimize the environmental impact associated with their disposal.
In February of this year also, our experts in Thailand donated 10 kgs of used desk calendars to the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of H.M. the Queen. These calendars were used to make Braille word cards as educational materials for handicapped kids.
Antoine FERRANT, the Regional Manager of Tractebel in Thailand is 100% supportive of these kinds of initiative, glad to develop this mindset in his teams : “These donations are small gestures, but their addition can make a huge difference at the end of the day”
Altogether, let’s continue to CARE, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE.
