Find out moreTractebel has used its expertise to achieve much for the people of southern Asia. An OAV webinar explored what kinds of opportunities are open to other companies there.
Nepal’s economy is growing fast. Cutting-edge technologies and the knowledge of international experts are helping. Tractebel has already achieved much in the region thanks to its successful work. What opportunities are opening up there for other companies? This question was the focus of the webinar on "Business opportunities in Nepal", organised by the OAV (German Asia-Pacific Business Association) in mid-October.
This country in southern Asia has enormous potential for growth in terms of the development of hydropower and water resources! Tractebel has already had an active presence in the region for many years. Carsten Guntermann, Branch Manager Nepal, presented the company’s activities to the participants. The Tractebel subsidiary has already provided consulting services for more than twenty hydropower, water resource and solar projects and a range of power transmission and electricity distribution projects. One of the key projects of importance for the development of Nepal is the Upper Tamakoshi hydropower project. The Upper Tamakoshi reservoir was filled for the first time this year. “We were delighted to be able to take part in the OAV webinar and present our activities in the country. We are confident that hydropower in Nepal can be an engine for clean and green energy in the region.”
