HV transmission line Stade - Landesbergen
- Client
- TenneT TSO
- Country
- Germany
- Period
- 2020-ongoing
The Challenge
To increase transmission capacity from Schleswig-Holstein southward, the existing 220 kV line between Stade and Landesbergen must be replaced with a new 380 kV line. This upgrade is part of the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030 and is essential for integrating more renewable energy into the grid.
The Solution
The project involves phased construction and dismantling, requiring close coordination. It includes a new 380 kV switchgear in Stade/West, extension of the 380 kV switchgear in Sottrum, replacement of the 220 kV switchgear in Wechold with a 380 kV installation, and reinforcement of the 380 kV switchgear in Landesbergen.
The Impact
This upgrade is a key component of the German government’s SuedLink initiative, significantly enhancing north-south electricity transmission and supporting the country’s energy transition.
