The Challenge
The Blue Gate Antwerp CO2 Neutralisation Plan aimed to overcome the significant challenge of achieving a CO2-negative or energy-positive development. This required a comprehensive feasibility study to explore various scenarios for on-site energy generation and delivery, encompassing both electricity and heat consumption.
The Solution
Our team developed an integrated energy and CO2 masterplan based on the most viable scenario from the feasibility study. The plan included an in-depth CO2 analysis alongside a detailed site layout, ensuring every element was aligned with sustainability goals.
The Impact
The masterplan not only set clear sales conditions and prerequisites for companies and the developer but also defined roles for stakeholders, including companies, the land manager, and the energy producer. This collaborative framework ensures the maintenance of energy-positive industrial land, fostering a sustainable, future-proof development.
