The Mission

The Rogun Hydropower Project involves the construction of the world’s highest earthfill dam, reaching 335 meters in height. Set in a geologically complex region, the project also represents a significant financial undertaking, with an estimated cost of approximately USD 10 billion. Delivering such a massive infrastructure in these conditions poses exceptional engineering and logistical challenges.

The Solution

Tractebel leads the international consortium acting as Employer’s Representative for the entire project. Our role includes design review, supervision of works, coordination, and contract management—ensuring that every phase of the project meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

The Impact

Once completed, the Rogun Dam will secure energy independence for the country and enable the export of electricity to neighboring nations. This strategic infrastructure will not only boost national development but also strengthen regional energy cooperation and sustainability.
