ROAD Project - Carbon capture, transport, and storage

The Challenge

Tractebel’s mission in the ROAD project is to advance the deployment of carbon capture, transport, and storage (CCS) technologies by supporting one of Europe’s first large-scale post-combustion carbon capture demonstration projects. The goal: to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions from industrial sources and contribute to climate neutrality.

The Solution

In collaboration with Laborelec, Tractebel led the technology comparison and selection, followed by Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and EPC tendering. This comprehensive approach ensured that the most suitable and cost-effective technologies were identified and prepared for implementation.

The Impact

Thanks to Tractebel’s technical and strategic support, the ROAD project reached a state of readiness for final investment decision (FID). This milestone marks a critical step toward the realisation of full-scale CCS deployment in Europe.
