The Mission
This facility not only sets a new precedent in Data Centre design for Turkey, but also incorporates innovative technologies and cutting-edge infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the digital era. RED was appointed Lead Consultant for this new standalone primary Data Centre facility for Halkbank.
The Challenge
RED played a pivotal role in the project, seamlessly taking it from the initial concept design stage to full detailed design and construction. The facility was meticulously prepared for IT fit-out after the Integrated Systems Testing (IST) phase. RED’s scope also encompassed Uptime design and facility certification, ensuring the highest level of reliability and performance, as well as LEED certification, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. RED’s solution included 500kW of low-grade waste heat being exported to the adjoining new bank campus development. Mass air free cooling (MAFC) units were designed by RED in collaboration with the air handling unit manufacturers.
The Impact
This world-class standard facility sets a new precedent in Data Centre design for Turkey. The MEP infrastructure exceeds Uptime Institute Tier III standards and integrates the best practices of LEED Gold, with certifications achieved. This is the first Mass Air Free Cooling Data Centre in Turkey. RED’s comprehensive approach ensured the successful realization of a world-class facility, reinforcing its position as a leader in multi-discipline Data Centre lead design consultancy in Turkey.
