The Challenge

Tractebel’s mission in this landmark project is to support the development of Germany’s first multi-purpose onshore LNG import terminal, reinforcing the country’s energy independence and diversification strategy through a state-of-the-art facility on the northwest coast.

The Solution

Tractebel provided Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and permitting services, including the basic design of the terminal and the development of a detailed 3D model. Our team also prepared all necessary documentation to support the permitting process, ensuring regulatory compliance and technical clarity from the early stages of the project.

The Impact

The construction of the Brunsbüttel LNG Terminal in Germany is now underway—thanks in large part to the foundational work delivered by Tractebel. By executing a comprehensive Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and preparing all permitting documentation and technical drawings, Tractebel played a pivotal role in securing the necessary approvals to launch construction. Our early-stage expertise helped transform a strategic vision into a project ready for execution.
