Paraguay mission accomplished

12 Jun 2018

A major project in Paraguay was recently completed, carrying out studies and audits of the country’s electrical installations on its National Interconnected System.

The Administración Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) of Paraguay worked with Tractebel to carry out environmental impact statement and audits for compliance with environmental management plans. The work focussed on electrical installations of Paraguay’s National Interconnected System.

After one year of work, the project was recently finalised. During 2017, Tractebel's teams in Brazil and Paraguay worked on two lines of work: audits to evaluate compliance with the environmental management plans in seven substations and two transmission lines; and environmental impact studies for a hydropower plant, a 220 kV transmission line and a power station.

According to project manager André Deberdt, an original approach paid off. "Our team applied innovations that are used in the licensing processes carried out in Brazil and are executed in a much broader way. These present more precise contents, different from Paraguay, where the process is more simplified," he explains. Therefore, it was possible to deliver more complete outcomes resulting in greater customer satisfaction.
