Tractebel began its operations in Peru in 2009, as Owner’s Engineer for the 800MW Chilca Uno Combined Cycle Thermal Power Plant, for ENGIE Energía Perú (former EnerSur). In 2010, this same client appointed Tractebel for the supervision of the civil works of the 114MW Quitaracsa Hydroelectric Power Plant. With the aim of providing greater support to customers and consolidating its presence in the Peruvian market, Tractebel opened a permanent office in Lima in 2012. Since then, the company has been involved in important energy and infrastructure projects such as the 114MW Talara & Cupisnique Wind Farms, the Interconnection of the Electrical Systems Peru-Ecuador and more recently, the Chavimochic Irrigation Project and the Mantaro Hydroelectric Complex.
